Privacy policy for applications

For your application to the BALLER LEAGUE (United States)

1. Responsible party, contact
The responsible party in terms of data protection law is Baller League USA Ltd, 251 Little Falls Drive, Wilmington, Delaware, 19808 (“we”). You may contact us with any privacy-related questions at: dataprotection@ballerleague.uk.

2. Data categories, processing purposes and legal basis
We collect and process the information you provide in your application, such as your name, address, mobile phone number, email address, photo, football club and achievements, and other information about you. Mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk. All of the information you provide will be used exclusively as part of the application process.
We use this information for the purpose of processing your application and contacting you. Where you have consented, we may also send you marketing communications. You may opt out of marketing at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in an email or by contacting info@ballerleague.uk. We do not sell or share your personal information as defined under applicable US state privacy laws.

3. Further data
If you participate in the BALLER LEAGUE Scouting Combine Event, more comprehensive data processing will take place, including health and fitness information. A separate privacy notice will apply to that processing, which we will provide to you in advance.

4. Recipients and categories of recipients
We may disclose your personal information to the following categories of recipients:

• our technology and other service providers who provide the application platform;
• analytics and search engine providers that assist us in the improvement and optimisation of our website and products;
• companies who assist with our marketing, customer surveys and feedback tools;
• third parties who help us detect fraud or criminal activity; and
• our group companies (including affiliates in the UK and Germany).

We may also need to disclose your personal information in the following circumstances:
if required by law or pursuant to a binding regulatory or governmental request (in each case, only to the extent required);

• in the event of a business sale or acquisition, to the prospective buyer or seller; or
• in order to enforce or apply our terms of use and other agreements.

5. International data transfer
As part of a global organisation, your personal information may be transferred to affiliated companies outside the United States (including in the UK and EU). Where we transfer your personal information internationally, we will use reasonable safeguards designed to ensure it is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

6. Storage period and deletion
Your applicant information will be deleted no later than 6 months after notification of the participants of our BALLER LEAGUE Scouting Combine Event, unless you are one of the selected participants. In that case, processing will be carried out on the basis of our participant contract or where you have explicitly consented to it, and you will receive a separate privacy notice in advance. If you do not accept the invitation to the event or do not show up, the data will be deleted no later than 6 months after the event.

7. Your rights (US Residents)
Depending on your state of residence (for example, California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut), you may have certain privacy rights, including the right to:

• Access: request confirmation whether we hold your personal information and obtain a copy.
• Rectification/Correction: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
• Deletion: request deletion of personal information we hold about you (subject to legal or contractual exceptions).
• Portability: request a copy of your personal information in a portable format.
• Opt-out: request that we do not “sell” or “share” your personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioural advertising.
• Limit use of sensitive information: request restrictions on how we use health or biometric information.
• Non-discrimination: exercise these rights without discrimination.

To exercise your rights, please contact us at dataprotection@ballerleague.uk. We may need to verify your identity before we can respond. If you are a California resident, you may authorise an agent to submit a request on your behalf.
We will respond to valid requests within the timeframe required by law. If your request is unfounded, excessive, or repetitive, we may refuse to act or charge a reasonable fee.

8. Minors
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. For players under 18, parental or guardian consent will be required for participation.

9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will revise the “Date of Notice” below and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
